Rice is considered the most universal cereal. Different rice varieties have different grain shapes and different starch content. Rice is: - gluten-free, - easily digestible, - low-fat, recommended in particular for children, the elderly, people with allergies and celiac disease, - is a rich source of carbohydrates, - contains fiber, - small amounts of protein and various minerals, as well as group B vitamins. Natural rice, also called brown rice, is non-pearled, with only the husks removed. It is the least processed rice, therefore its nutritional value is very high. It belongs to the group of foods with low glycemic index. Its light brown color is owed to several layers of bran rich in minerals and vitamins. Due to rich composition of amino acids it is appreciated by healthy food consumers and vegetarians. It goes very well with poultry dishes, it is also irreplaceable for exotic dishes. When cooked, its structure is slightly stringy and has a nutty flavour.
